SIBA and IMSL Sign MoU to Promote International Buddhist Study Programs in Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka International Buddhist Academy (SIBA Campus), the Higher Education Institute Of the Sri Dalada Maligawa, a premier higher education  institution in Sri Lanka dedicated to Buddhist studies, academic excellence, and international learning, and the Institute of Migration Sri Lanka (IMSL), an independent, non-political, not-for-profit institution based in Colombo engaged in migration, international mobility and public diplomacy, have recently entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Cooperation for International Buddhist Study Programs.

Both SIBA and IMSL recognize the growing global interest in Buddhism, Buddhist philosophy, meditation, mindfulness, Sri Lankan Buddhist heritage, and experiential learning opportunities in Sri Lanka. In this context, the two institutions have agreed to collaborate in the development and delivery of specially designed short Buddhist study programs for international participants.

Under the MoU, SIBA will develop and deliver customized short Buddhist study programs. IMSL, in turn, will undertake the student outreach, enrollment facilitation, and placement coordination for the programs. 

Both institutions are expected to work collaboratively to develop short Buddhist study programs and their promotion internationally and positioning Sri Lanka as a global destination for Buddhist Learning, educational exchange, intercultural understanding, people-to-people engagement, and experiential learning opportunities for international participants.
