All 39 students of Janakapura Primary School in Welioya, Mullaitivu, began the term with fully stocked school bags, thanks to a donation project completed on 11th September 2026 through IMSL's Philanthropic Giving platform. The donation provided Grade 1 to Grade 5 students with school bags, exercise books, stationery, water bottles, and lunch boxes, the everyday essentials many rural families struggle to provide in full. For Grade 4 students preparing for the national scholarship examination, the package also included past papers to support their exam preparation.

The project, valued at LKR 270,000, was made possible through the support of a Sri Lankan donor based in the United States, who is committed to helping children in rural areas in Sri Lanka access the resources they need for their education.  He is one of many members of the diaspora and global community who connect with verified, on-the-ground projects through IMSL's Philanthropic Giving platform. 

Welioya, in Mullaitivu district, is home to communities still rebuilding access to consistent educational resources. Something as simple as a proper school bag or a full stationery set can directly affect a child's ability to attend school prepared and stay engaged in their studies. This project reflects the core purpose of IMSL's Philanthropic Giving platform: connecting willing contributors, whether in Sri Lanka or abroad, with verified, practical projects that create immediate, tangible impact for the communities that need it most.
