IMSL partners in the strategic transformation of Sri Lanka’s immigration system

IMSL provides technical consultancy to the Sri Lanka Department of Immigration & Emigration (DI&E) on its Strategic Plan development for 2026-2030. At the invitation of the DI&E, the Executive Director of IMSL is leading the initiative.

As a cornerstone institution, the Department of Immigration and Emigration plays a central role in safeguarding national security and public safety, while facilitating legitimate travel and mobility that underpin economic growth and international connectivity.

The development of a five-year strategic plan provides a critical opportunity to reposition the Department from a traditional control-focused agency to a strategic mobility authority that simultaneously strengthens security and enables economic growth.

IMSL is honoured to contribute to the development of the Department of Immigration and Emigration’s five-year strategic plan, a critical initiative to modernize systems, strengthen border governance, and position the Department as a key enabler of national security and economic development.
