international trust and cooperation. By connecting people and institutions across borders to foster
dialogue, knowledge exchange, and mutual understanding, we serve as a bridge between Sri Lanka and the
wider international community, including the global diaspora.
We offer a unique platform for global citizens to engage meaningfully with Sri Lanka and the Maldives,
two of the Indian Ocean's most vibrant island nations. The Institute of Migration promotes modern and
inclusive public diplomacy by creating platforms and programs with an immersive approach that not only
builds practical skills and global networks but also promotes trust and opportunities.

Global Hospitality Internship Program - Sri Lanka
(GHIP-SL)
The first such program in the country, GHIP will place university students from around the world in selected Sri Lanka hotels & resorts for a structured 3-6 months internships for providing practical training experience. -
Sri Lanka Diaspora Youth Internship Program
A significant portion of second and third-generation Sri Lankan-diaspora youth have limited opportunities to engage directly with Sri Lanka or develop a meaningful understanding of the country's economy, society, and professional landscape. By providing structured internship opportunities and cultural engagement experiences, the program cultivates a new generation of globally connected Sri Lankan professionals who maintain meaningful ties with their ancestral homeland.
Volunteer work
Our volunteering in Sri Lanka and the Maldives program offers foreign university students and passionate individuals a unique opportunity to combine meaningful impact with rich personal and professional growth in areas such as community development, environmental conservation, education, tourism, and sustainability while working alongside local communities and institutions.
